One thing I noticed, though, is that the Ulfenwatch have way more natural poses and even their swords are more detailed. I have a box of multi part Skeleton Warriors in the same style, in case I need to add a few more. They will be perfect for my usual skirmish games, and even if I want to play something like Dragon Rampant or Saga I can form them into a unit. The group has six skeletons with spear&shield, two with sword&shield, a banner bearer, a sergeant, and the Captain. GRAVE GUARD VS SKELETON WARRIORS PATCHThe Ulfenwatch commander got a head swap: the bare skull wearing an eye patch got switched for a spare masked helmet. So much so that I left them as they were, with the exception of Captain Halgrim. I'm really happy with the design, from the armour to the shambling poses. The Ulfenwatch are fantastic armoured skeletons. GG will trash most infantry in their cost bracket and below with contemptible ease and tanks far better than skeletons and zombies. Warhammer Quest: Cursed City contains some really impressive minis, and I purchased a copy primarily for that reason. Ultimately, in campaign you'll want to start with skeletons and go to grave guard as fast as possible. Will be adding a few more wight characters to my collection soon. Now I changed his weapon into a hefty mace, and updated his paintjob. Starting from the bottom, I built up columns of minute green stuff balls, each flattened into a disc with a metal tool.Īrkbald the Accursed is a Wight King I painted a while ago for the warband of lich Ichorax the Insomniac. FOR SALE Deathrattle Grave Guard skeleton warriors, Banshee. I'm still waiting for some bits to arrive to tackle that one. DEATHRATTLE GRAVE GUARD skeleton warriors, Banshee, Flesh Eaters, warhammer AoS - 40.00. The other Grave Guard will be pretty similar. is said to have marked the grave of a distinguished warrior ( McCauley's ' History. It matches the mail that came with the GW skeletons. A mound of similar character, and constructed in layers or strata at. The most involved part of the process was sculpting the scale mail hanging down the Guard's waist. In order to put that all together I used green stuff. The helmet and sword arm come from a Last Sword Miniatures Skeleton Warrior. The robe was taken from a Lumineth Auralan Warden (the ornamentation was all filed down), and the shield from MESBG Warriors of the Dead. The armoured torso, feet, shield arm and face come from the new Citadel Skeleton Warriors kit. I hope they will be brought up to date, but in the meantime I can have fun converting my own! I'm planning a pair of them: one armed with sword and shield, and the other with a polearm. The current plastic Grave Guard kit doesn't cut it at all, especially when put next to the new Skeleton Warriors. GRAVE GUARD VS SKELETON WARRIORS FULLWe both loved the look of pre-plastic Grave Guard, even though he never ended up collecting a full unit back then. So with this im at 800 points, how shoudl i close this out? I'm thinking of either getting 1 more unit of skeleton warriors (getting the unit size to 40) and either spirit hosts or black knights. In the early days of my Warhammer hobby, my brother joined me and started a Vampire Counts army. The legion of death seems nice, but I can't fit it in pointwise into 1k points and I want to keep the morghasts to handle a carnosaur or another monster with -2 rend! But the necromancers spell will do more on the warriors in any case because they are double the models for the same point cost! What I'm asking myself: Grave guards are stronger but they are way more expensive pointwise, so fielding more than 10 wouldnt be good I think! Also they just have 1" weapon range, so more than 10 might have problems piling in efficientlyīut how does it work out with the buffs from wight king and necromancer kicking in? 30 sekeltons (or 29 if they lose the +2 attack) get each 1 more attack that is worse than if the grave guard would would get +1 attack from the wight kings command ability. What I allready have and want to include: Wight king Necromancer Morghasts (I will magnetize the weapon to use what fits better for the game) 40 Skelton Warriors (I put together 10 with swords, gonna make the remaining 30 with Spears) Hi! Im putting together a death army, and ill start with 1k points going mostly deathrattle!
